Can they be picked up with the vacuum end of a vac/ blower? I mow the lawn with my garden tractor and only some get vacuumed . My herbs have gone crazy, fennel at 5 feet tall, yarrow falling over, I guess I waited to long to trim them. I could use some help with harvesting, storing and propagation. I just need some help picking the best ones to stay around all spring and into fall... Are there any like that? Or you can just tell me some good flowers for SouthEast Missouri. I have just fallen in love with the Dalia flower. Is it possible to leave the bulb in the ground throughout the winter? I'm in South Texas and had planted a perennial garden in the front of our house this spring and is doing great. I've started working on the back and created a bed to start a perennial garden, but now being in the middle of summer and temperatures constantly in the high 90's, should I wait to plant? If so, should I wait until next spring or will fall be okay? I'd love to plant them now, but I'm afraid the heat may play a big factor....thanks for your help. I just got into gardening about 3 weeks ago and I have a few plants already but they are all fall/late summer harvest plants, such as my tomato plant which I already got one off of actually. But I want to start some more plants and I know it is late in the season but I was just curious to if anyone could help me find some other plants I could grow at this time, anything from exotic flowers to vegetables or any cool random plants I am open to anything. Thanks for taking your time to read this The bulbs are large and the tops are falling over. Something then eats off the leaves and nibbles at the bulb. This is the second year this has happened. We have a lot of squirrels and rabbits, could they be the problem? We have a 20 year pool in our back yard. 20ftx10ft aprx with 5ft depth. Its just falling apart and costing too much. We are REALLY tight on cash and want it out, but it being efficient and looking nice. We are thinking about replacing it with a hot tub or a water garden, not completely sure yet, but the pool must go. Any ideas, references, help?! I've planted a load of sunflowers and they are all about 12" heigh but the stems are all thin and the wind keeps blowing them over. Does anyone know or have experience of growing these and if so, what do they need to stand upright or how long does it take for the stems to thicken enough so they will stand up unaided by sticks, garden wire etc. I've even used pop bottles to prevent the slugs munching on them and to stop them falling over. I want to start a vegetable garden and was wondering if I had to wait until spring to start planing, or if there was anything I could plant in late summer/early fall. By the way, I live in upstate NY. Thanks! |
